Pop-Up Exhibition…artists’ with ambition

‘Chucky’s Photography’ Charley is a ambitous 12 year old girl who says she is not an artist. Other than school she does performing arts hip hop, cheerleading for Bendigo Spirit and Lady Braves and in her boring moments she takes photos with her mobile phone camera. Chucky (Charley) is our first up artist for a program for all artists who want to have a go.

Feb 24-Mar 3 Thursday, Friday Saturday ( Meet Artist) Feb 25 12noon-3pm

The Arcade Kangaroo Flat Artspace

Random we have gaps in our gallery so every so often an artist having a go will have an opportunity to show their work. Though, there is rules.

1.You are on stand-by with enough notice to be organised and have an exhibition for 2 weeks. Bump in Thursday, doors open Friday, Saturday and the following week Thursday, Friday, Saturday

2.(First Saturday) you will be part of “Meet the Artist” YOU, where people can meet you and you can answer any questions etc.

3. Join KFAI $20.

4.Bump in one day before open day and bump out day after exhibition.

5.KFAI will do publicity within their free database

6. You have never had an exhibition

a year long…our story

It’s been a year since we started this web/blog site. It’s had many face lifts to get it right, so new theme for this year, though we could change a look, maybe if we are bored and to keep yous excited and creative.

We have been in the artspace since about July 2011, so it’s only been about 6 months of work that has got us us to what it is now, wow! We haven’t our back arcade entrance decked out yet with some amusing stuff. We have a back log of things and ideas to appear-creative art and writing does wonder for a town-it highlights some dull moments and brings people together. Drop in and tell and show us your ideas in what would become a unique space. A new sink and stocking our shop is a couple of jobs that we will be doing this year. The year that was…

We meet at the Pocket Press Headquarters this Saturday 12.30pm-2.30pm-we think it will take that long???

The type-writers are out with STREET PRESS, yes… we are! Xmas ones of course. Now if you have some funny memories of your past Christmas’s or other celebrations and would like to share anonymously to the streets about the place then come this day and type up some stories, poems, or just words and they will come out like the sunrise!

My example: The half decorated so called christmas tree and so excited with not sleeping the night before and opening up that tin tambourine bought from the old Coles Variety Store and it’s the only thing I got, but I cherished it….

The Scarecrows are Coming! WHERE?

ScareCrows are up and running maybe not the usual in your backyard, but they will do. You can view them under lights Thursday, Friday 11am-3pm. This Saturday only 12noon to 3pm.

Scarecrow Workshop

Everyone is busy, busy well, have a relax down with making your own mini scarecrow November 19th between 1pm-3pm and if you like you can put on show in The Scarecrows are Coming Exhibition on the fourth of December-Opening Day. Cost is just a donation and materials supplied.

You are invited to create a scarecrow of any format for our up-coming exhibition on December 4th-17th. If you would like to contribute your artwork/scarecrow sculpture let us know via email kflatarts@live.com.au Details: Scarecrows/artwork to be delivered on Thursday December 1st or Friday December 2nd between 11am and 3pm. Pick up artwork/scarecrow Sunday December 18th 12.30pm-3pm. Opening Day Sunday December 4th 1pm-4pm Kangaroo Flat Artspace & Gallery The Arcade Dunlop Lane end (parking IGA).
